I’ve been neglecting a lot of my favourite indie bands because I assume that everyone’s heard of them already, but every once in a while I’m reminded that if someone’s a newcomer to the indie scene and looking to discover some great bands, it’s possible that they haven’t heard of some of my favourites. Thus I bring you The Decemberists. “Sons and Daughters” is the first song I ever heard from them, and I think it’s just a fun song to sing along to. They have a really excellent sound and I think are definitely necessary for any music enthusiast’s collection. Unfortunately the video is a fairly uninspired home creation (I know, I know, I’m a pretentious jerk), but it’s the only good one I could find for this song.
